Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO - SORAYPAMPA.
DAY 1: CUSCO - SORAYPAMPA.

We start the day picking you up from your hotel from 04.30 AM, then we will go on a tourist bus passing through the towns of Izcuchaca and Limatambo arriving at Mollepata (2900 masl) where we will be at approximately 7:30 AM where we will have our first breakfast , then we will continue on a trip for 1 more hour to Challacancha (3380 masl), from that point we begin our walk along a section to begin acclimatization to the altitude. In an approximate time of 3 hours we will arrive at Soraypampa (3900 masl) where we will be arriving at 1:30 pm approximately rest with a view of the mountains with its glaciers, here we will enjoy our first lunch then we will go to the beautiful Humantay lake in an ascent for 1:30 minutes where we will arrive at a height of (4220 masl) where we can appreciate the turquoise color of the lake and the snowy Apu Humantay and then starting to descend for 40 minutes to our Soraypampa camp for tea time that It is approximately 18:00 pm and then we will have our delicious dinner prepared by our chef, finally we will pass to our tents or sleeping tents and enjoy the stunning views offered by this beautiful place at night with the sky completely covered with stars.

DAY 2: SORAYPAMPA –SALKANTAY- CHAULLAY

Today will be a busy day, so we get up at 5:00 am, early and we will get ready to enjoy a nutritious and energetic breakfast. Usually between the months of May to August we have temperatures below zero degrees at this level of height. Then we will start with our walk, we start from the Soraypampa point to the highest point of Abra Salkantay (3 hours) where we can appreciate the sunrise in the imposing snow-capped mountains of Salkantay, Humantay mountains (4650 masl) passing through Salkantaypampa and Soyrococha where we will appreciate a small sky-blue lake, then we will begin the descent to Huayracmachay (3 hours) (3800 masl) where we will take our lunch then we will follow the stretch descent walk where you will notice a dramatic change in the landscape the transition between the mountain and the high jungle or cloud forests where you will appreciate different types of bromeliads, orchids, begoneas, this hike is really impressive after we continue down to Chaullay (3 hours) (2900 masl) where our second camp will be.

DAY 3: CHAULLAY - PLAYA SAHUAYACO - SANTA TERESA.

Today our alarm clock will be the birds with their songs at 5:30 to have breakfast at 06.00 am, then we will walk for approximately 05 hours following the Salkantay river all through our jungle eyebrow with level ascents and descents, in this way we will appreciate Coffee plantations, bananas, avocados and many plants used for natural medicine, arriving at Playa Sahuayaco where we will have the lunch and board a bus which is included from the camp lunch point (Playa - Santa Teresa)) . Arriving at our camp we will have the option to visit the hot springs located in Cocalmayo (Santa Teresa) that are not included in our package and we return to our camp at 06.00 pm, for our tea and dinner.

DAY 4: SANTA TERESA – HIDROELÉCTRICA – AGUAS CALIENTES:

The sunrise will be within a tropical area because Santa Teresa is at (1500 masl.) with temperatures of 12 ° degrees during the night and 25 ° degrees during the day, there we will taste our breakfast and then we have 2 options:

Walk for 3 hours to the next point that is the Hidroelectrica.
Perform the Canopi or Zip line in one of the companies that offer them for which the transport after finishing the activity is included (the zip line is not included).

In hidroelectrica we will join the whole group again to have lunch in our restaurant, rest and then continue our walk along the railway line of the train in the middle of the mountains and the Vilcanota river that crosses in the direction of the Amazon jungle in an average of 2½ Hours to the city of Aguas Calientes and arrive in the hostel and wait for dinner at 18.30 pm.

DAY 5: AGUAS CALIENTES- MACHUPICCHU - CUSCO
DAY 5: AGUAS CALIENTES- MACHUPICCHU - CUSCO

This is the most prominent day, to visit Machupicchu we have several entry shifts can be at 6-7-8- or 9 in the morning, depending on the date of the advance payment of the tour we can book the entrance as early as possible, For this we have two alternatives to go to Machupicchu, by bus (not included) or walk for about 2 hours, then at the control door we will meet with the whole group to access the Machu Picchu. Upon entering Machu Picchu our guide will take you through all the most important archaeological sites such as; the temple of the sun, the guard house, the temple of the three windows, the house of the Inca, the sundial among many places.
Other options may be to climb the mountain of Huayna Picchu or the mountain Machu Picchu (if you have tickets booked in advance, “not included”) or walk to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), but you should keep in mind that you are going return to Cusco by minivan and for this you have to return to Hidroelectrica walking, to board your minivan towards Cusco. An ideal time to start walking back is approximately 11:00 am or 11:30 from Machupicchu to arrive at Hidroeléctrica at 2:30 pm and have enough time to eat something and board the minivan at 3 in the afternoon at most .
